Just then, the medics arrived to check on Mary. She assured them she was alright, her heart filled with joy and gratitude. The years of pain and longing could finally give way to a newfound hope for a future of healing and reconciliation. There was hope in all their lives once again.
Even the dismal fog had begun to clear up as the sun finally broke through the clouds above. Peter and Mary had woken up this morning believing they’d lost their children forever, and now look at them. With arms around each other, the reunited family slowly began heading home.
