Another official who came under fire for his words was Air Force head coach Fish DeBerry. His controversial statement came in 2005, following the Falcons’ loss against TCU. It wasn’t a close fight because the score was an embarrassing 48-10.
Perhaps, in an attempt to justify the loss, DeBerry noted that this might have happened because the opponent team had more athletes of color that were far speedier than his players. When asked again about the controversial words, the NCAA coach reiterated his statements.
