Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid loosely tells the story of America’s infamous outlaws Harry Longabaugh and Robert LeRoy Parker. Robert Redford (the Sundance Kid / Harry) and Paul Newman (Parker / Butch Cassidy) did justice to the film.
Early reviews of the film were brutal, and it earned mostly mediocre ranking. However, as years have gone by, critics appreciate the chemistry between the two leads and William Golding’s screenplay. The film helped to propel Newman and Redford’s individual careers to greater heights.
