Gene Hackman – 91 Years Old – Retired But Still Making Appearances
Despite studying journalism and television production, Gene Hackman and his friend Dustin Hoffman were both dubbed the least likely to succeed in the Pasadena Playhouse. Both of them were determined to prove them wrong. Hackman did just that and became a Hollywood heavyweight, winning two Oscars, four Golden Globe Awards, and two Bafta awards.
He earned these awards while starring in classics and blockbusters like Bonnie and Clyde, The French Connection, and the western Unforgiven. Hackman is also famous for playing Superman’s arch-nemesis Lex Luthor in the original Superman movie series. Since his retirement, he has focused on fishing, painting, and a new career as an author.
