Ted Lange – 74 Years Old – Still Active in the Industry
The American actor/director Ted Lange became famous in the ’70s after appearing in shows such as “The Love Boat” and “That’s My Mama.” Following his “The Love Boat” success, he landed roles in many other notable productions, including the 1989 Shakespeare adaptation “Othello,” which he directed and starred in. He reprised his role as ‘Othello’ in the 2008 short “Players at the Poker Palace.”
Today, Lange continues to be busy both as an actor and director. In 2022 alone, for instance, this ever-busy Oakland, California native directed the short “Think Twice” and starred in the horror movie “Toomie: The Hungry Tumor.”
Dick Van Dyke – 95 Years Old – Still Active
Dick Van Dyk was a Radio announcer for the US Army during WWII, entertaining the troops in the continental US. He took these skills into mainstream radio before moving into Broadway and later TV. His TV claim to fame was his role in the self-titled The Dick Van Dyk Show.
The show won Van Dyk three Daytime Emmy’s for the leading actor while the series itself won four for Outstanding Comedy Series. He is also famous for his role in the 1964 adaptation of Mary Poppins, where his energetic performance was praised, but his cockney accent was slammed. Van Dyk had a role in the 2020 film Capture The Flag.
