Who can forget this five-star General and WW II Supreme Commander of the Allied Expeditionary Force in Europe? Interestingly, long before he became the leader of the free world, Dwight D. Eisenhower was known for his prowess on the gridiron. He was a star running back and linebacker for his high school team in Kansas back in 1912.
Eisenhower’s football days ended because of a torn knee, but he later served as a junior varsity football coach and cheerleader.
