Chris Mosier started appearing in triathlon competitions in 2010. At the time, though, he had a very different look. Mosier completed his transition only after establishing himself as an athlete. In 2015, he joined Team USA, becoming the first trans athlete to participate in official sports competitions outside his original gender.
Just one year later, Mosier appeared on the “Body Issue” cover of ESPN The Magazine, once again paving the way for future trans athletes. He also competed in the 2020 Olympic trials.
