The amazing Sue Bird waited until the summer of 2017 to come out as a gay woman. Her decision to come clean was probably inspired by her partner, the professional soccer player Megan Rapinoe. Retired in 2022, Bird is considered to be one of the best female basketball players of all time.
In addition to being the only woman who won WNBA titles in three different decades, Bird made it to 13 WNBA All-Star games and landed five Olympic gold medals.
