Strangely enough, though, it’s the people in the south (who are in favor of the Supreme Leader) who suffer the most with the policies of the Iranian government. Uneducated, very poor, and (possibly) involved with crime and drugs, the people of South Tehran support the regime despite being so negatively affected by it.
On the other side, the (mostly) wealthy and educated people of North Tehran famously oppose the regime—if not with political action, at least with their literal actions.
