However, for a woman passenger in an Athens airport in 2004, officials didn’t expect that she was wearing a chastity belt. She told authorities that her husband wanted her to use this item to ensure that she would remain faithful to him while on a trip to Greece.
According to Live Science, chastity belts were popular among women during the Middle Ages. They were first written by Konrad Kyeser in a treatise on machines in 1405.
