Anyone who has been a basketball fan for a long time has probably heard of “The Charles Smith Game,” a name given to Game 5 of the 1993 Eastern Conference Finals. But what would Charles Smith have done to have a game named after him? It was nothing good.
The New York Knicks had taken a 2-0 series lead, and all Charles had to do to put his team 3-2 up with just seconds to go. was to make a layup or draw a foul. Unfortunately, he was blocked every time he attempted a layup, and his team never recovered.
