Michael Caine was watching TV when he spotted a girl in an advert that he couldn’t get off his mind. So mesmerized was the ‘Inception’ performer that he booked the next flight to London to meet this lady.
Shakira Caine, though, as the actor would soon find out, wasn’t one who was easily impressed. The former ‘Miss Guyana’ titleholder turned down Michael 11 times before finally agreeing to go out on a date with him. These lovebirds got married two years after their first meeting, and according to Michael, even after more than five decades of being with his wife, he loves nothing more than coming home to her.
