Beware Of Hotel Scammers
It’s late in the night, and you’re sleeping like a rock. Then, your in-room phone rings. A voice says it’s from the reception and asks you for your credit card number. Half asleep, you don’t think twice about it. Minutes later, you realize you’ve just been scammed.
Sadly, this is a common practice among scammers, who memorize the phone number of a hotel room and call it later to fish for some digits. If this ever happens to you, don’t say a thing and report the call to the hotel staff. Keep in mind that traditional hotel employees will never call your room late at night.
