It’s Hard To Forget These Biggest NFL Draft Busts

Heath Shuler – Washington Redskins, 1994 Draft

When Heath Shuler was drafted in 1994, Washington Redskins really hoped he would be a franchise QB. However, the pick turned into a train wreck for the Redskins despite a lot of riding on the choice. In his rookie year, Shuler, who performed below average, was replaced by his colleague, Gus Frerotte.

By Shuler’s third year, he was benched for Frerotte, which started a downward trajectory for him. He later moved to the New Orleans and Oakland teams and then retired from there. Interestingly, the former athlete won the US. Congress in 2007 and became North Carolina’s 11th District Rep.
