Dutch track cyclist Laurine Van Riessen made headlines during the Rio Olympics when she rode the wall of the track. It was an impressive feat of physics, but things quickly went south when she crashed into her opponent during her descent, resulting in several broken bones and bruises.
Despite the setback, the biker remained determined to compete and made a comeback at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021. Interestingly, she’s also a speed skater who won a bronze medal at the World Championships in 2016 due to her resilience and versatility.
