American biker George Hincapie’s legs gained notoriety after a picture of his varicose veins went viral. He competed in the Olympics and the Tour de France and has weak venous tissues, which left us with this picture.
According to a vascular surgeon, George’s veins are the most severe he’s seen in a while, with a mass of veins clumped together. Usually, varicose venules affect up to 35% of the cycling population and one can increase the risk of developing them due to prolonged sitting and pressure on the legs.
