Lionel Messi, the third of four children, was born in Rosario, Santa Fe, Argentina, to a family of mixed heritage. His paternal roots can be traced back to Italian and Spanish origins, while his maternal lineage is primarily Italian. Interestingly, his great-grandparents hailed from the Adriatic Marche region of Italy and Catalonia.
It seems football was in his genes from the start, as Messi grew up playing with his brothers and cousins. Notably, two of his cousins, Emanuel Biancucchi and Maximiliano Biancucchi, also pursued illustrious football careers.
