Non-Americans Explain Why They Love America, And Some of Their Answers Will Surprise You!
Rock On!
Just like movie fans cannot complain about America, neither do people who love music. And rock aficionados, in particular, have a lot of reasons to love the land of the free.
As a non-American, you don’t need to know a lot about the U.S. to know all about rock ‘n roll music. From the early days of Elvis Presley to the more recent efforts of bands like Metallica or Pearl Jam, upbeat electric guitar music (a.k.a rock) is an American landmark that has become hugely popular all over the world. Foreigners have made their own original versions of rock ‘n roll, a music genre that’s so widespread it’s sometimes easy to forget it is quintessentially American.
To be fair, the British have also played an essential part in the advancement of rock ‘n roll music, with bands such as The Rolling Stones and The Beatles. But the origins of the music can all be traced back to the U.S., to the influence of pioneers such as Robert Johnson, Chuck Berry, and Bill Haley.
