Oddly Satisfying Pictures For People Who Love Patterns & Perfection
Delicate Destruction
Before turning into a flying insect, the Sawfly larvae are capable of producing images of uncanny beauty. And they do so by merely feeding off the leaves. The little larvae are such polite eaters that they manage to go through an entire leaf without damaging its delicate structure.
This oddly satisfying picture strikes us for two reasons: first, because of the way the larvae eat in such a consistently symmetrical way. And second, because of how beautiful and art-like a broken leaf looks when its core structure is preserved. It’s like a filigree masterpiece, but it’s all coming from nature.
