At one point, Grey’s Anatomy revolved around Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo), and the character Patrick Dempsey played Dr. Derek “McDreamy” Shepherd. The show’s fans were shocked and heartbroken when Shepherd met a tragic death during the show’s 11th season.
The death of his character brought Dempsey’s time on the show to an end, and it’s rumored to have stemmed from some backstage action Dempsey had with a staff member. On the other hand, Dempsey said that the show had given him everything at a cost. He felt like it was about time he took control over his schedule and focussed on his family.
