The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air was one of the biggest sitcoms in the ’90s, and Janet Hubert played the original Aunt Vivian in the show. It turns out that she didn’t like sharing the spotlight with Will Smith, who was the title character.
Hubert harbored a grudge towards Smith for the better part of her time on the show, and she left the show in its third season. Later, Hubert would blame Smith for allegedly ruining her career. The part of Aunt Vivian was recast to Daphne Maxwell Reid, who held the role until the series concluded.
