No Sunlight for Months
Located on Ellesmere Island, Eureka, Nunavut is a small research station in one of the northernmost inhabited places on Earth. During winter, the population drops to around 50 as scientists and researchers huddle inside to escape those conditions. Temperatures can plummet to -40°C, and the sun doesn’t rise for months.
There’s a well-documented housing crisis in the town, though mainly exclusive to a particular people. But we can imagine how disastrous not having shelter is in such a frigid region.
