The Invention of the Bond Girl
Surprisingly, the invention of the Bond Girl happened on the small screen, with the release of a TV adaptation of the Ian Fleming novel Casino Royale. The Mexican actress Blanca Rosa Welter, best-known for the screen name Linda Christian, became the first Bond Girl in 1954.
It took almost ten years for James Bond to become a movie franchise. It happened in 1962, with the release of Dr. No. The first 007 was the one, and only Sean Connery and Ursula Andress became famous for being the first big-screen Bond Girl.
