Even though Sting did make a couple of WWE appearances during the final stage of his career, the bulk of his wrestling days was made in association with rivaling wrestling promotions WCW and TNA. He was particularly crucial for WCW’s success in the late ’90s, a period during which he acted as the promotion’s biggest star.
An unbelievably beloved wrestler, Sting is one of only two athletes to have been nominated “Most Popular Wrestler of the Year” by Pro Wrestling Illustrated magazine, alongside John Cena.
