The Golden Age of Wrestling, Meet the Most Influential Pro Wrestlers of All-time

Vader (Leon Allen White) – Active 1985 to 2018

The Big Van Vader always took advantage of the fact he was a big man. He played briefly for the Los Angeles Rams, but his American football career pales in comparison with his wrestling success. In the ring, Vader made waves in promotions such as Japan’s NJPW, WCW, and WWF.

Popularized by the Vader Bomb, Vader was Shawn Michaels’s nemesis for a while and had a life-long real-life friendship with Sting. In 2016, he suffered a car accident and was advised by his doctors to retire. Claiming he wanted to die on the ring, Vader continued fighting until passing away in 2018, after being hospitalized for pneumonia.
