The Golden Age of Wrestling, Meet the Most Influential Pro Wrestlers of All-time
Kurt Angle (Kurt Steven Angle) – Active 1998 to 2019
It’s impossible to forget the Olympic gold medalist Kurt Angle, who retired in 2019 after over two decades competing in WWE. Known for his characteristic American-styled singlet and his catchy intro-song (often satirized by the fans), Angle was named the “Wrestling of the Decade” due to his outstanding 2000s performances.
Powered by the Ankle Lock, the most popular of his finishing moves, Angle often played the villain. Still, he was nonetheless highly regarded by the fans and by his wrestling colleagues in particular. He’s considered a symbol of technical prowess and collected a total of 21 championships throughout his sports-entertainment career.
