Sharon Gless – 78, Cagney and Lacey

This multi-Emmy and Golden Globe-winning actress with over four decades of TV, film and stage presence to her credit has had a pretty massive career. Sharon Gless was first noticed in 1972 by the head of talent at Universal Studios, where she appeared in TV shows like ‘The Rockford Files’ and ‘The Bob Newhart Show.’

Ten years later, Sharon and Tyne Daly made history as the first women to get leading roles in the first hour-long drama ‘Cagney and Lacey.’ Sharon, who also did stage performances, now has a star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame and an Excellence in the Arts Award from DePaul University in Chicago.
