Faithfull Forcing Your Way In
After the gay liberation movement gained traction in the 1960s, a gay subculture began to thrive in New York City. Many gay men would go to Studio 54, but by the time they walked over the busy streets of New York to get to the notorious club, they ended up smeared in glitter and completely soaked in water.
That’s why some gay men would force their way into the club. The best way to do this was to have their name or a famous celebrity on a piece of paper, as it would be difficult to get in without one. As soon as the name was read, they would force themselves in.
