In Oregon, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office developed a brilliant program called “Bait Package,” where boxes are intentionally left at doorsteps. These things have GPS trackers that alert the police and post office if they are taken away from their location.

Because of this campaign, officers claimed they saw a decline in porch theft. As for Amazon, delivery personnel sometimes take photos to prove that they have safely delivered the parcel. In Round Rock, Texas, Operation Front Porch instructs citizens to forward their items to the police station, where they can pick up their purchases for as long as three days.
