A Burst of White Light
Gathered in protest, the university students were no longer talking about shopping, expensive clothes, or fancy cars. They were simply there, united for a cause nobody even knew existed. Then, a strong burst of white light came out of nowhere, leaving Ashley temporarily blind.
She felt an intense pain in her eyes and thought for a minute she was never going to see again. Then, she started to recognize some shapes and basic colors. But it took her a couple of minutes before she was able to see things clearly again. In the meantime, she noticed something very odd: the surrounding crowd went completely silent, and she felt all alone.
