Living in a vibrant Metropole sure sounds like fun, but New York City is far from being the only world-class city in the United States. One of the main “rivals” of the Big Apple happens to be cultured San Francisco, where rents are at least marginally cheaper.
While San Fran beats NYC in terms of quality of life (with a quality of life index score of 156 in comparison to NYC’s 138), the Big Apple has a lower rate of violent crime and property crime. It’s a tough choice!
