Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Start Your Engines: The Milk Carton Regatta
The Milk Carton Regatta was started in response to a beer regatta. People wanted to participate with a family-friendly alternative to alcohol; thus the Adelaide Milk Carton Regatta began.
For seven years, people used recycled milk cartons to build spectacular boats that either sank or brought victory by crossing the finish line. Unfortunately, Lake Patawalonga was deemed unsafe due to pollution. The regatta was scrapped after that, much like the milk cartfons.
