Irish Road Bowling: Follow the Winds in the Road to Discover Who Wins
The Irish Road Bowling Association is the governing body of this peculiar sport. When the sport was first started, there were 20 shots given, and the winner was chosen by whoever’s ball went the furthest.
The goal is to take the fewest amount of throws to cross the finish line. Throwers use an iron cannonball, called a bullet or bowl. When the bullet stops rolling, chalk is used to mark the spot; then, competitors throw it again. It is common for spectators to make bets on who will win during the event.
