The most impressive thing about this photo isn’t the fact that the two kids decided to sleep outdoors. Nor the fact that a dangerous bear is approaching them. What we find most bizarre is the fact someone (presumably the kids’ father or mother) decided this was a good time to take a photo!
According to the NPS, bear attacks are not common. But they happen nonetheless, meaning campers need to be ready to deal with one of these beastly creatures if needed.
