Michael Vick’s Dogfighting Sideline
Fans may have thought that someone as promising as Atlanta Falcons player Michael Vick was financially secured with his lucrative deals during his heyday. However, he had another side gig that was illegal: dogfighting.
In 2007, authorities raided his kennels in Virginia and rescued 48 dogs, the last of which named Frodo died in 2021 in the arms of his owners who adopted him. Vick served 18 months behind bars and had to pay $1 million for the care of the remaining canines.
