Declan Sullivan’s Painful Demise
This one is a little different than the rest of the list but still deserves a spot. Declan Sullivan was an avid football fan who loved football, too. As a student at Notre Dame, he often filmed games on the field.
Unfortunately, this was also what claimed his life. In 2010, Sullivan was watching and videotaping a match from a 40-foot aerial lift when heavy winds caused the structure to collapse. Notre Dame eventually acknowledged its fault in the accident and how the lift should have never been used.
