These days, a single violation would be enough to axe a coach from a team. But University of Florida’s Charley Pell incurred 107 violations before he was finally fired from his job. According to the Bleacher Report, the Gators official instructed his assistants to go on spy trips and provided them with funds so that they could check what other teams were doing.
Pell also gave his players “gifts,” although it’s unclear what that meant. Even the players received punishments for the violations and some even lost their scholarships.
