John Belushi Filming An SNL Skit In 1975
John Belushi was one of the original Saturday Night Live (SNL) cast members. The late Belushi had this photo taken while filming a skit for the show in 1975. It marked the start of an SNL recurring gag with wearing bee costumes.
Belushi threw together this rather ridiculous costume for the occasion, but somehow it worked. He later transitioned to film appearing in 1941, The Blues Brothers, and Neighbors. Belushi had a short-lived career after he died in 1981 from combined substance intoxication at 33.
