After years of denying rumors about his romantic orientation, the notorious Australian former swimmer Ian Thorpe said, “Enough is enough!” Feeling that a change was coming, Thorpe confirmed to be a gay man in a 2014 interview with the English talk show host Sir Michael Parkinson.
Nicknamed “Torpedo,” Thorpe started representing Australia internationally at the age of 14 and landed a whopping five Olympic gold medals before kissing goodbye to the world of sports. He dated the late model Ryan Channing between 2016 and 2019.
