The former NBA center Jason Collins played 13 seasons in the big league and waited almost until the day of his retirement to spill the beans on who he truly is. Since coming out, though, Collins became the first openly-gay man to play in a major North-American sports league and was listed in Time magazine’s ‘100 Most Influential People in the World.’
If Amaechi broke barriers, then Collins was the athlete who proved that it’s already okay to be a baller and a gay man at the same time.
