The more pictures Mueller took of the site, the more she understood how resilient ocean creatures are. Each airplane had its own ecosystem with life teeming all over, including on chunks of metal. In fact, one photo even shows how the rusty cockpit became home for a school of fish!
Mueller was amazed at this life force that, in her words, we probably won’t ever fully understand. It was like something out of a movie, and she could only do what she did best – take photographs for the world to see.
