An elated Mueller slowly made her way back to the surface, still reeling from this surreal experience. While she couldn’t wait to share the incredible find and images with the world, it also felt like a good decision to do some research before posting the photos online. After all, everyone would have tons of questions, and the photographer wanted to answer at least some of them.
The details convinced Mueller that these planes were indeed from World War II and not from the Korean or Vietnam Wars. Looking further into it, Mueller realized that she had found something that historians had been after for a while!
