Diver Finds Old Planes At Bottom Of Pacific, Then Understand Why They Were There

So Close to Each Other

Some details at the ‘Airplane Graveyard’ were truly incredible. For starters, three of these planes ended up just three feet apart from each other. Most of them were in near perfect condition, with only a few wings and broken tails around the sea bed. Thanks to this, Mueller ended up with breathtaking photos of a unique situation. Admittedly, the impact wouldn’t have been the same if there was more damage.

Mueller used a bird’s eye view lens that helped her capture the length and huge wingspans of the warbirds. Without her keen eye for details, historians wouldn’t have been able to study these images and understand the true story.
