The situation is even worse when one considers that many college-educated people throwing lavish parties in Iran are the sons and daughters of politicians and officials or that some even pay Revolutionary Guards not only to ignore the debauchery but also to protect them during parties!
As for the parties themselves, they’re often described as involving music, dancing, and exposure. Drugs and alcohol are probably also part of the experience. Private parties aside, there’s a growing (and non-conforming) underground party scene blowing up in North Tehran.
