The average weight of an NBA player is 217 pounds. The question remains as to how they move around the pitch so stealthily and jump as high as they do, but let’s look at what happens when a player makes it to the league with a weight lower than that.
Austin Daye made the NBA at just 175 pounds, and while it was unnoticeable, it almost proved fatal when he was chest pumped to the ground by a teammate after hitting a clutch 3-pointer. He should have probably celebrated otherwise.
