Gameplay Blunders: Top NBA Fails in History

Big Chance, Big Miss

In 2011, the Dallas Mavericks met the Miami Heat in the NBA Finals opener. It was a clash of the league’s most potent offenses at the time, but both seemed to struggle, especially Mavericks’ Dirk Nowitzki.

Dirk appeared subdued; despite connecting on all 12 of his throw-ins, he missed the second free throw in style after being fouled with just seconds to spare. This led to the Mavericks losing the game and having the NBA championship taken out of their hands.
