It’s Hard To Forget These Biggest NFL Draft Busts
Charles Rogers – Detroit Lions, 2003 Draft
Charles Rogers was a promising playmaker, and the Detroit Lions thought they’d hit the jackpot when they picked him second overall in the 2003 draft. However, the young player couldn’t be dodged by misfortune, as he broke his clavicle in the fifth game of his rookie season.
Once he came back, Rogers made sporadic appearances, which were hindered by another clavicle breakage and numerous off-the-pitch issues. Despite his undoubted talent, the Lions let him go, and sadly, he couldn’t find another team he could play for. It was quite a tragic ending for a budding player, with the Lions left with regrets for their gamble.
