It’s Hard To Forget These Biggest NFL Draft Busts

Andre Ware – Detroit Lions, 1990 Draft

There was a lot of hype surrounding Andre Ware when he was announced for the 1990 NFL Draft. He had a stellar record in college football and had won the Heisman Trophy the year before that, so expectations were high.

So the Detroit Lions drafted Andre in the first round, picking him 7th overall. Unfortunately, it never quite ended up the way everyone thought. He played backup to quarterbacks Rodney Peele and Erik Kramer, and his stats were dismal. Soon after, the athlete was cut from the team and moved to the CFL and NFL Europe.
