It’s Hard To Forget These Biggest NFL Draft Busts
Rick Mirer – Seattle Seahawks, 1993 Draft
The Seahawks were expecting the remarkable career of Joe Montana to mirror itself onto that of Rick Mirer. They also hoped nothing would go wrong as both Montana and Mirer were from Notre Dame, so they had him as their second pick in the 1993 draft.
Tough luck because the footballer burnt out of Seahawks after his fourth season and spent the rest of his career bouncing between teams. Clearly, Mirer could not just match Joe Cool and instead moved through six teams in just eight seasons and ended up leaving the sports entirely to start a winery which, to be honest, proved better for him.
