Sometimes, a person’s work ethic and discipline ensure that they get to the top of their career, but it was not the case for JaMarcus Russell. During his college years, the player was a budding talent, and he landed the first pick in the draft for the Oakland Raiders.
Despite having the skills, Russell struggled with issues on and off the pitch. He had an underwhelming rookie season, and although the subsequent ones were relatively good, his inconsistencies led to him being axed from the team. Finally, the Raiders released the star in 2009, which marked the end of his stint in the sport.
